The new Sage Xi3 Fly Rodsare arriving at A.A. Outfitters Fly Shop in Blakeslee, Pa.
The Xi3 replaces Sage’s Xi2 model of saltwater Fly Rods. There are a number of noticeable improvements in my opinion, with the new fast-action Xi3. The new Xi3 feels lighter right off the bat. Upon casting the new Xi3, I found it to be much “easier” to cast in general. Seems like just as much distance with less effort. The Xi3 also loads very easily in close. 30 foot casts are accurate and easy, with very good “line feel”. The rod loads easily in-close, which did not seem to be the case with the discontinued Xi2 model. There is no need to “overload” the new Xi3 with a heavier line to get a good feel for the line and to be able to load the rod in close. I casted with a 300 grain sinking streamer express line with ease and also a WF9 Floating line.
All around, the Xi3 is what I consider to be just about perfect for Saltwater! Lightweight, great “touch and feel” at all distances, tremendous line speed and distance. Easy to cast without much effort and accurate. Of course Sage provides great workmanship, customer service and a warranty to back it up. I highly recommend the new Sage Xi3 fly rods. Come on in and try one for yourself. Give us a call at A.A. Outfitters toll free 800-443-8119 or stop in the Shop in Blakeslee, Pa. You can view and order online at www.aaoutfitters.com
