Fishing’s been good the first few weeks of Trout Season, here in the Poconos. Low, clear water for this time of the year and warm temperatures (HOT temperatures) made bugs and fish very active. Good dry fly fishing with Caddis, Blue Quills, Red Quills and Hendricksons. Me may be “in between” hatches for awhile as with the hot temperatures making the Hendricksons and Blue Quills and some Caddis hatch in full force and it’s cooled off so it may be awhile till Sulphurs, March Browns, etc start. Water levels are very low for the end of April and we need lots of rain. The upper Lehigh has been very good while the Lehigh River below the Dam still has water temps in the upper 40s and therefore fishing has been a bit slower…..this will make for good fishing in the weeks to come below the dam, as many of the recently stocked fish still remain in the River. Stop in the Shop in Blakeslee or give us a call at A.A. Outfitters 800-443-8119 for more info.
