The new Ross Vexsis Fly Reel is one of my favorite new reels for 2009, featuring the usual Ross craftsmanship and dependability. These reels for 2009 have some great new features, not found in many reels at this price. The Vexsis is constructed on lightweight, machined barstock aluminum. Made in the US. Very smooth, adjustable carbon fiber disk drag system, easily changes from left to right hand retrieve without any tools, and very attractive new design. The spool is easily removed but securely held in place by the usual spool release but with a magnetic security feature which holds the spool to the frame.
