I know it’s been awhile since we posted any “fishing conditions” here in the Poconos. It’s not that we forgot to do so ….. it’s simply because there hasn’t been much going on up here asround the Shop. Gone are the “good-old-days” when the Pa. Fish Commission stocked early for Special Reg Waters so we could get some good fishing in, in mid March and Early April. It used to be that we got some early stockings on area Special Regs waters like Mud Run, the Nescopeck, Bowmans, Hickory Run, Tobyhanna, and Harveys Creek in Early March. Now it seems the earliest stockings will be after April first. It might be a good idea to mention this to our good-old Fish Commission. Seems like we keep getting less and less “good opportunities” for fishing. Most years our Guys are out quite a few times by now but not much these days with the lack of early tocking and the weather. Speaking of the weather, it’s March 24 and it is now 23 degrees outside A.A. Outfitters Fly Shop in Blakeslee around noon! That’s another reason why we haven’t been out much … it’s just been COLD! Not too many nice warm days this March with many day’s highs being only in the low 40s and lows in the teens. So, we’ll get right on the “fishing conditions” updates as soon as we start getting out there … hopefuly it will warm-up soon. Meantime, contact our Fish Coimmission and ask why there’s no more early stocking on special regs streams …. it’s our money, why less fishng opportunities? Call A.A. Outfitters for more info 800-443-8119.
