PRODUCT REVIEW – SAGE SMALLMOUTH BASS ROD

We have the new Sage Smallmouth Bass Rods in stock. I’ve spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME casting this rod! It’s awesome!
As a Fly Shop Owner (A.A. Outfitters) and in “the business” for over 15 years, I’ve become slightly jaded about new equipment. Yeah, lots of new stuff is great but, I just don’t get overly excited much these days. HOWEVER … when my Sage Rep. first showed me the Sage Smallmouth Bass Rod and I tried it out for a test cast, I couldn’t put it down. Since then, I’ve taken it out for a spin about 15 more times. We can’t use the rod to fish with here in northeast Pennsylvania in December so all I can do is cast the rod and hope for Summer. I immediately ordered a rod for myself and about 12 more for the Shop. Simply put, this rod is just FUN and easy to cast. I’ve given the rod to about 20 Customers since I got my Demo rod and asked them to go out and try it. All reactions were the same – Holy Crap! Most people are casting nearly the entire fly line with ease. Then I tell my Customers the price. They’re all expecting the rod to be in the high-end Sage category, about $650.00. The kicker is the $350.00 price tag which includes the 4 piece, 7’11″ rod, the matching floating fly line in 290 grains and a rod/reel case! If you’re interested in this rod, I suggest you get one before Sage realizes Customers might pay $600.00 for it!
I’m planning on using the rod for Susquehanna Smallmouth Bass here in Pa. and in Vermont. Can’t wait to use it in Mass. for Schoolie Stripers. Call us at A.A. Outfitters or order online at www.aaoutfitters.com Or stop in the Shop and give it a try.
