FISHING TIPS - June 2006

Don’t see many Caterpilar patterns around for Trout Flies but it’s a good idea to have some. Trout like them. There are tons of Caterpillars around this year. Two types basically - the standard one to one-and a half inch Caterpillar and a tiny one about a quarter of an inch long. Try a dark olive foam or furry foam bodied fly with some very small hackle the entire length of the body (Whiting 100 pk hackle in Grizzly/Olive size 18 or 20). Great when the wind is blowing them out of the trees and into the water.
