The Delaware is pretty much blown out for awhile. There’s been good reports of Hendricksons, Red Quills, Blue Quills and Caddis. Good cold water with temps in the low 50s.

HELPFUL TIP - TIPPET SIZE

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

A common question among beginners and intermediate level Fly Fishers is “How do you know what size tippet to use?”. A good general rule (general) is to multiply the tippet size by 3 to give you the size hook for that tippet. Again, this is a general rule but this means a good size tippet for a size 18 fly would be a 6x because 6×3=18.
Size 12 fly = 4x tippet (4×3=12)
Size 14 and 16 fly = 5x tippet (5×3=15)
Size 18 fly = 6x tippet (6×3=18)
Etc.
Hope this helps! For more info, if you need help, feel free to call us at A.A. Outfitters Fly shop 800-443-8119. We’ll be glad to help!

Got out this past weekend. Did quite well. Fish feeding on top - little blue quills, size 18, 20. Also beadhead Princes did the job. Low water and warn air last weekend had the fish active. It’s back to cold weather for a few days now. It snowed this morning. Should be up in the mid 50s for the weekend. There’s a lot of fish around in the Special Regs areas … Bowmans, Nescopeck, Tunkhannock Creek, Harveys Creek, etc. Mud Run should be stocked within the next few days.
