Check out our new FLIES page on our online catalog. We currently list some of our best Trout Flies from 2005. These are mostly “Shop Flies” that you won’t see in other Shops. These are the ones that the Shop Guys use! We’ll be adding more flies to the page including Saltwater and Bass patterns.

Still no rain! Tough conditions in the Poconos continue. No considerable rain for months. Any productive Trout fishing is done with Hoppers, ants, Beetles Midges.
The Susquehanna Smallmouth fishing has picked-up a bit since the low water has cooled off.

Winston is introducing 2 new Rod Series for 2006. The Vapor is a true high performance rod for under $300.00 and features 14 rods in the series from 3 to 10 weight. The Ascent has 5 basic models 3,4,5,6,8 weights. These 4 piece rods will be $179.00. Now it’s easier for entry level and intermediate level anglers to become part of the Winston Family.

Sage Casting Analyzer

Sage is very excited to announce the introduction of the Sage Casting Analyzer. This innovative new product provides a scientific interpretation of the fly cast. Selected Fly Shops across the Country will be featuring the Casting Analyzer when it becomes available and A.A. Outfitters should be among them. Simply come in and make a few casts. The Analyzer will provide helpful casting tips and a printed report to the Caster which will help improve your cast. We’re awaiting more information on availability. A.A. Outfitters will be among the first Shops in the World to introduce Cloudveil Fly Fishing Products. Cloudveil is well known and respected for producing high quality outdoor apparel. They’re venturing into the Fly Fishing Industry with some great new products available in late Winter / early Spring 2006. This is top-of-the-line stuff! I checked-out the waders, boots, jackets and clothing recently and placed an order IMMEDIATELY. We’ll have some of Cloudveil’s great new gear including Goretex waders and Jackets, wading boots, and clothing. Cloudveil gear will appear in our 2006 online catalog in January or early February as product becomes available.

Susquehanna River Smallmouth

Some decent Smallmouth fishing has been reported on the Susquehanna. Since we’ve experienced some cooler weather the fish have turned-on a bit. We’re still not sure the total effects of the bacterial infection and extreme heat this Summer and fish kills, damage, etc. It is good to know that there is some good fishing at this time. We’ll see………………
